In 1968, a 28-year-old director with a shoestring budget and a pitch black imagination, unleashed upon the unsuspecting public the dark vision of a world where the dead does not return as the lost loved ones, but flesh-eating, unfeeling zombies who appear only to have one goal to hunt ceaselessly for the next piece of human flesh in order to sate their seemingly endless hunger.
